Microsoft’s Bot Builder SDK comes in two flavors: C# and Node.js. As mentioned in Chapter 1, for the purposes of this book, we are going with the Node.js version. Node.js is a cross-platform JavaScript runtime; the fact that it is cross platform and based on a low barrier of entry language such as JavaScript means we can more easily show how easy it is to build bots using the technology.
