An essential part of designing is the actual testing of your circuits and end products. That means measuring inputs and outputs as well as other internal voltages and signals. For that reason, you must have some suitable test equipment. You cannot work without it. Most of you probably already have a multimeter to measure voltage, current, and resistance. A decent digital multimeter (DMM) is relatively inexpensive and endlessly useful. But you will need other equipment, specifically power supplies, a signal generator, and an oscilloscope.
