Okay, it’s no secret that merely writing to STDOUT is not a great logging strategy. But let’s imagine that we had some sort of logging system set up that consumed our STDOUT output—the same sort of thing you’d set up for any project. The microservices architecture doesn’t change that.
We don’t put domain state in this sort of thing because that goes in the Message Store. On the flip side, we don’t put debug logging in the Message Store because debug logging isn’t domain state.
Anyway, we looked at our system logging that we totally set up, and we didn’t see any messages from our subscription indicating that the subscription tried to start and then crashed. It’s almost like we never told it to start! ...
