C.1. The gear
The climate is changing and that scares us. This fact becomes the engine that drives us to change. The disruption of global finance invites us to redefine our fundamentals: our sovereignty, our sufficiency and our potential surplus for trade with the rest of the world.
Changing our model of society entails renunciations and creates new opportunities. The change we feel the need for is the result of changes in two aspects of our environment: man’s effects on the climate and his own evolution. Change: we have no choice.
C.1.1. Stemming the climate effect
It is difficult to say whether it is possible to act to stabilize climate change. On the other hand, we are forced to question our model of society, which does not take into account the fact that we are an integral part of Gaia, in other words of the entire living system, which has its own laws. These laws do not match those of our current economic model.
With sedentarization, humans decided to tame nature so that we put in the garden everything we needed to satisfy our primary needs. This way of life is more demanding than nomadism, but it enables doing more varied things, things that use intelligence! For example: making tools and jewelry. Humanity sells some of this in addition to any agricultural surpluses.
This is how our era was born: it favors work that allows one to receive money and it is this money that gives freedom. This era also gave birth to the notion of property and rent.
