Who This Book Is For
This book was written for programmers and web developers who want to build web applications using Microsoft’s powerful new ASP.NET platform. Many readers will have experience with “classic” ASP or other web development platforms, though that is not required. Many developers will have read a primer on C# (see Jesse Liberty’s ProgrammingC#, second edition, O’Reilly & Associates) or VB.NET (see Dave Grundgeiger’s Programming Visual Basic .NET, O’Reilly & Associates). Other experienced VB, Java, or C++ developers may decide they can pick up what they need to know about the languages just by working through the exercises in this book.
