In developing MEX-files we are able to call C subroutines from MATLAB. In
this section we will learn to call MATLAB as part of the C program through the
MATLAB Engine. It allows transferring of data from C to MATLAB, performing
MATLAB commands while running the C program, and transferring back the
output of MATLAB operations to C before shutting down.
Components of the MATLAB Engine
The MATLAB Engine programs are C programs (with the addition of basic
components) that can interface with MATLAB and therefore can access all its
features.
