ATLAB, short for MATrix LABoratory, not only performs as a
programming language, but also provides an environment for users
to do numerical computation. The original MATLAB program was
created by Cleve Moler in 1970 and was rewritten using C language in 1984, the
same year MathWorks was founded.
Today, MATLAB has been used by more than one million people both from
academia and industries. Recognized to be a valuable tool in the engineering
field of study, it finds its way into chemical engineering and is being used to teach
students computer programming.
