of a system. The physical properties of different materials are usually
presented in textbooks in the form of graphs or tables. When we want
to derive specific values from these graphs and tables and the information is
not directly available, we use mathematical computations. The objective of this
chapter is to apply what we learned in Chapter 2 to convert graphical solutions
to mathematical equations that are easily incorporated into a computer
program.
