It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

Nun hast du es in den vorangegangenen Kapiteln schon recht weit gebracht. Wenn du so weitermachst, werden deine Quelltexte immer umfangreicher. Da lässt sich natürlich einiges in Funktionen zusammenfassen, aber wenn die Programme irgendwann nicht mehr nur bis zu dreißig Zeilen umfassen, sondern über hundert oder gar über tausend, dann stellt sich die Frage, ob sich dann nicht noch mehr zusammenfassen und auch aufteilen lässt, um den Gesamtüberblick zu behalten.
Natürlich bietet Python dazu passende Strukturen, die du hier kennenlernen sollst. Dabei geht es auch um die sogenannte objektorientierte Programmierung (kurz OOP).
