Die Grundlagen fehlender Werte haben Sie bereits weiter oben in diesem Buch kennengelernt. Erstmals sind Sie in Kapitel 1 auf sie gestoßen, wo sie zu einer Warnung geführt haben, als ein Diagramm erstellt werden sollte. In Kapitel 3 im Abschnitt »summarize()« auf Seite 79 haben sie die Berechnung der zusammenfassenden Statistiken beeinträchtigt. Dass sie ansteckend sind und wie Sie ihr Vorhandensein überprüfen können, hat in Kapitel 12 der Abschnitt »Fehlende Werte« auf Seite 234 erläutert. Nun befassen wir uns noch einmal eingehender mit ihnen, damit Sie mehr über die Details erfahren.
