A data set is a collection of data. In a relational database, the data is saved in columns of the required data type. A column always belongs to one table. In an object-relational solution, the data is saved in an object. A data set can be saved data, inside or outside the database; it can be a data set used while performing a query; or it can be a query result of some form.
