These tables are designed to provide starting points for recording various types of ensemble in different venues. The tables indicate rough measurements including height, distance from source, and the spacing of an AB pair, presented in a form that is optimized for quick reference. Once the microphones have been positioned according to the following measurements, careful listening will inform the recording team as to how the positions might be adjusted to optimize the overall sound and balance.
