As the author of computer books, I spend a lot of time lurking in the computer section of bookstores, observing the behavior of readers browsing through books as if they were hominid jawbones and I was a paleontologist.
Because of my research, I’ve learned that if you have picked up this book and turned to the introduction, I only have 12 more seconds before you put it down and head to the coffee bar for a double tall decaf skim with two shots of vanilla hold the whip latte.
