The notion of a keyboard adds too many buttons to an otherwise sleek and mobile device like your Galaxy Tab. Even so, text input is still required. Though you most likely won’t use your Galactic tablet to write a novel, you are required to write text. To fulfill that function, and to help you edit and hone your text, you use something called the onscreen keyboard.

This Is a Keyboard?

When text input is required, the onscreen keyboard, shown in Figure 4-1, reveals itself on the bottom half of the screen.
