It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Running Go examples
The examples provided in this book are all self-contained. Every example is a full program and can be run. Most examples are short and demonstrate one specific topic. While the examples can be used as standalone programs, some of them may have limited use. They are intended to be references and used like a cookbook for building your own projects. Because each example is a self-contained main package, you can use the go build command to get an executable and go run to run the file.
