Chapter 3
Serverless Architectures
This chapter explains why software designs with Serverless elements are usually superior to designs without those elements. However, before discussing Serverless design, it is useful to look at the philosophy Amazon has used to become dominant in commerce and cloud computing; it is a very similar philosophy to building Serverless applications. This chapter then defines what Serverless is and explains how front ends, back ends, functions, and managed services all fit into the larger Serverless picture.
