Same service cheaper?
In terms of strategy, an organisation needs to be
clear about what exactly it is trying to achieve. If
cost savings are the desired result, then spending
more on new services does not make commercial
sense (unless the savings delivered by such extra
spending are justifiable).
Alternatively, if the strategy of an organisation is
to obtain an acceptable service, or a better service,
then it may have to accept that this might well
involve additional cost (even if the supplier can
make efficiency savings). In this case, a key
question will be how much extra is your
organisation prepared to pay for an improved
service?
