Troubleshooting Multipathing
Error messages from IPMP can be found in the /var/adm/messages file and, if you're running CDE, the window in which the command was entered.
The following message indicates that IPMP was not set up correctly and that no test address is specified for in.mpathd to use for failure and repair detection:
Apr 14 14:29:48 ultra10 in.mpathd[354]: [ID 255185 daemon.error] Failures cannot be detected on hme0 as no IFF_NOFAILOVER address \ is available
in.mpathd cannot perform any failure detection until a test address is configured for each interface that is to be used with IPMP.
When you have successfully configured a test address, the following message appears in the /var/adm/messages file:
