Preface

I was rereading the second edition’s preface a while back as I was getting ready to begin work on the third edition, and it gave me pause for some reflection. Yes, I have been fascinated by the trappings of the entertainment industry since I was a child. But as much as I enjoyed and still enjoy the classic movie monsters, as well as some of the “new” classics—Predator, for example—it didn’t occur to me as a kid, for some reason, that I could make these things for a living.
