Custom Error Logging with DTS

DTS supports three kinds of logging: data lineage logging, package execution logging, and error logging.

  • Data lineage logging—. Allows you to log all the data in the destination, the source, and any transformations applied. This is covered in much more detail in Chapter 18, “Data Lineage.”

  • Package execution logging—. Is set in the package properties; it logs package and step information. For more information, please refer to Chapter 7, “Package.”
