How to Create Credible and Castable Characters

As emphasized throughout this book, characters are the driving forces of your story. Your hero must be someone the audience cares about—identifiable, susceptible, and vulnerable. That makes him or her appealing and castable.

To push the edges of conflict as far as possible, it helps if a protagonist faces powerfully motivated antagonists.
