In politics, labels have gotten a bad reputation, but at the most basic level, a label is an identifier that concisely defines a product or an object in as few words as possible. Commerce would grind to a halt if we didn’t have labels; grocery stores would contain shelves and shelves of mysterious canned products. What’s for dinner?
