Abstract

This chapter looks at how the accessibility of music through digital applications has challenged the identity of one-day music festivals. Moving beyond the vinyl versus digital debate, this exploration considers how the use of digital applications to access music has lead to the iTunification of consumptive practices. The use of applications like iTunes, Soundcloud, and RDio promotes a culture of consumption that is single-track orientated, rather than album focused.
