CHAPTER 12THREE YEARS LATER

It was seven in the evening when Felix passed the lounge corner and the coffee bar on the ground floor of the DGTLY office tower. He strolled confidently to the elevator and entered when the sleek doors slid open. He pressed the button for the rooftop terrace, but just as the doors were beginning to close…

“Stop, stop—please wait!” That female voice was familiar. Felix held his hand between the elevator doors, and when they opened again, there she was—Sophia. She smiled and joined him inside.

“Oh, no. Please, Sophia—not this again!” Felix joked.

“How high is the probability of this happening twice?” Sophia laughed. “And these high‐tech elevators rarely get stuck. Hey—since when do you take elevators?”

“Long story,” he said as the doors closed. “I went to therapy for my claustrophobia. I'm fine now. I'll never fall in love with elevators, though.”

“Ha—I can believe that.”

The elevator quickly ascended, reached the rooftop terrace, and the doors slid open. The party had not yet begun, but the band playing that evening was already set to get started. Loud, ambient, chillout music greeted the DGTLY employees, board members, and investors who had already arrived. Gorgeous decorations, lampions, and amazing beach bar furniture made the rooftop terrace a wonderful place to spend the night. It was a fantastic way to celebrate the sale of DGTLY.
