LEARNING IS SUPPORTED BY instructional methods such as examples, analogies, and practice exercises. But how do you know which instructional methods to use when? The types of instructional content associated with your learning goals or objectives will guide your selection of effective teaching methods. Five types of content commonly found in workplace training are facts, concepts, processes, procedures, and principles. For each of these types, we summarize the main instructional methods you can use to help students learn them, including specific guidelines for implementing those methods in the virtual classroom.
