Chapter 10. Packaging Your Virtual Classroom Session

THROUGHOUT THE BOOK WE HAVE FOCUSED ON the virtual classroom event itself—suggesting the kind of visuals and interactions that will promote learning and engagement during your session. However, a number of elements external to the event will shape the overall effectiveness of your virtual classroom sessions. We refer to these surrounding elements as "packaging." Our guidelines for packaging include the following recommendations:

  • Integrate your virtual classroom sessions with other instructional media.

  • Provide pre-session support that will enhance results from your virtual classroom event.

  • Design handouts to accompany your virtual classroom sessions.
