This gallery of digital paintings spans more than two decades of painting on the computer, and focuses on paintings that I’ve created for my own personal expression.
I painted the first black-and-white images using a mouse and Image Studio before I owned a color Macintosh and a pressure-sensitive tablet. (Image Studio is a grayscale program that was written by Mark Zimmer and Tom Hedges, who later created Painter.) Then, beginning with an early black-and-white painting, I created Tranquil Beach, Color using Photoshop 1.0. After this color image, I used Painter (or a combination of Painter and Photoshop) and a Wacom pressure-sensitive to create the later paintings.
