CHAPTER5
RFID Door Lock
Radiofrequency identification (RFID) readers are often used in commercial access control as an alternative to keys. They are also sometimes referred to as near-field communication (NFC) readers, and they can read data from a tag without the need for any electrical contacts. You just place the tag near the reader, and it will read a unique ID from the tag. The tag may be in the form of a credit card or key fob. Figure 5-1 show a simple homemade RFID lock.
