I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Four pillars of technology procurement
We are about to discover what people used to call ‘IT procurement’. This category (a grouping of similar goods and services with universal demand and supply characteristics and a supplier base) dealt with the following commodities (products with standard traits):
software applications and operating systems;
web-based internet and intranet information and applications;
telecommunication products and services;
multimedia products and services;
computers and peripherals;
end-user devices (phones and tablets).
Common terms for all the above were ‘hardware’, ‘software’, and ‘services’.
