I'm sure you've been given plenty of advice over the years. Some of it you may have even paid for. No doubt there have been times when you've taken someone's advice: followed their formula, bought their solutions, administered their treatments and changed your strategy. I certainly have. Like the time I was told that yellow was my colour.

‘Yellow is definitely your colour,' pronounced the colour ‘expert' to me as I tried on a yellow blazer as part of her multi-step system to identify my colours. I bought the jacket. A yellow shirt too. I wore the jacket once and the shirt twice. Every time thereafter I'd put them on and then promptly hang them back up. I just don't like how I look in yellow. I ended up giving both to my gorgeous Italian friend Maria. Yellow suited her!

NO ENEMY IS WORSE THAN BAD ADVICE.

I've had enough misfires over the years to know that while expert advice can be valuable, no expert can ever know for sure what's right for you. More so, that if someone's expert opinion just doesn't sit well with you, you should park it and move on. Imagine what the world would have missed out on had the Beatles not done that after being told they had the wrong sound and that guitar music was on the way out by a leading record company executive in 1962.
