1.1    Perspective

Transformers are static devices that transfer electrical energy from one circuit to another by the phenomenon of electromagnetic induction without any change in frequency. They can link circuits that have different voltages, which is one of the enabling factors for the universal use of the alternating current (AC) system for the transmission and distribution of electrical energy.
