A typical design of a power transformer is discussed in this appendix. It is intended to help students at the undergraduate level to understand broad aspects of the design procedure. For fresh engineers joining a transformer industry, it is expected to provide much needed initial concepts and a flavor of the intricacies of the design. It must be said that the design described is not an optimum one. The values of flux density and current density are on the conservative side.
