Conclusion
Unicode is firmly entrenched in the software community. The software that doesn't support it now (and is still being actively maintained) eventually will. Interest in international markets and internationalized software continues to grow. Not only does Unicode solve a real problem, but it's also the only technology that solves that particular problem.
