With all the recent hype surrounding virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR), it’s easy to get caught up in the hype and decide that you need to find a way to incorporate those technologies in your next project. And that’s understandable — VR and AR are exciting! But it’s important to remember that VR and AR are just tools that can enhance your project when used correctly — or obfuscate your project when used incorrectly.

As with any project, assessing your business goals and project needs is paramount for providing users with a satisfying experience. A project built in VR or AR because it was the “cool” thing to do is bound for failure. Be sure to evaluate your project needs as you should with any project to determine if a VR or AR execution makes sense.
