Lambda expressions exist in the .NET development from the previous version, and therefore they have been available since Visual Basic 2008. Because of their flexibility, they are one of the most important additions to .NET programming languages in the past years. The main purpose of lambda expressions, as for other language features, is related to LINQ, as you see in the next chapters. They can also be successfully used in lots of programming scenarios.
