What Is WPF?
Windows Presentation Foundation, also referred to as WPF, is the most recent framework from Microsoft for building user interfaces in desktop applications. WPF is not intended to be a replacement for Windows Forms, whereas it can be considered as a revolutionary alternative for building rich client applications. As explained in Chapter 30, “Creating Windows Forms 4.0 Applications,” Windows Forms’ development will no longer be continued in favor of WPF.
