This appendix describes a tool case study. It is based on the Cisco BTS 10200 product. A set of open-source tools are also listed that can be used to implement a dashboard.

Case Study: Dashboard for BTS 10200

Trend analysis and visual monitoring of VoIP performance metrics are performed for counters from a BTS 10200 to create a VoIP dashboard. The VoIP dashboard is built from metrics collected from various VoIP network components such as the Signaling System 7 (SS7), public switched telephone network (PSTN), and others, thus providing visibility into the overall health and capacity of the VoIP network.
