It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

Specifies that the server should create a fancy index for a directory
listing, including filenames and icons representing the files’ types,
sizes, and last-modified dates. By default, fancy indexing is
off. If it’s on, the module looks to other
directives in this module to determine how to display the directory.
