Industry, as it is used here, refers to the business-related roles that are more industry agnostic. These are “in-house” or internal roles that typically exist at any company. A consultant who leaves his MBB job might move to industry in a strategy role at Amazon. An accountant who leaves her Big Four role for industry might be joining Pfizer as a controller. There are countless industry roles, and the responsibilities of these roles might vary significantly based on the industry.
