Outreach is mission critical. While it might be tempting to just submit your resume and leave it at that, reaching out to set up time with someone from the company will elevate your chances immeasurably. LinkedIn is a great place to start. If you can track down any fellow school alumni or first or second connections that work there, those might be your best shot. Your school likely has an alumni directory, so use that to track down contact information. If you can’t find an e-mail there, you can try sending a message over LinkedIn.
