CHAPTER 16Haters Gonna Hate: Let's Say I'm Wrong
In this short chapter, I want to address the doubters. If you've made it this far in this book, it's hard to imagine you really can't stand my advice, but maybe you've got serious doubts. You really aren't down with my data-driven evidence. Let's say you do not want to get to know more people, invest in your personal brand, expand your network, get your finances in order, or expand your wealth. I hear you. You might be tired, worn-out, feeling sad, and still questioning whether any of this would help you.
In this chapter, I would like to speak directly to those with serious doubts. This chapter will review the counter examples. In the United States, we teach the five-paragraph essay method. You explain a concept and argument, three reasons you're right, and then a conclusion. In the French educational system, you explain a concept and an argument, then you explain a counter argument, and then you explain why the counter argument is wrong. Let's go a little European in this chapter.1
Let's review the advice from this book in concrete and specific terms from this hallmark, and then the contrarian perspective. There is plenty of advice in here, but you are welcome not to agree with me. Let's review where those choices of inaction might lead you. In Table 16.1, I'll review counter choices to the recommendations I make in this book, the result of them, and the topic overall referenced. Get ready for some contrarian content!
