One important step has been left out of this book so far. That is the step of learning the language itself. The rest of this book is devoted to describing the various programming languages available. It also introduces you to a popular programming language named Visual Basic.
Most programming books jump right in and start teaching a language in the first chapter. There is nothing wrong with this approach, but somewhere along the way you need to learn to design programs, and that is the purpose of this book. At this point, you have a good grasp of programming fundamentals, and you understand more about what professional programmers do in their programming environments.
