It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

Access continues to grow as an integral part of enterprise data management. Important capabilities have been added with each new release of the application. Even though Access is not a strong tool for creating or driving websites, Access 2013 includes outstanding capabilities for publishing Access data and application objects on SharePoint servers.
The chapters in Part VIII position SharePoint as an enterprise-collaborative platform and explain the process of integrating Access with SharePoint. Starting with simple data sharing, the chapters in this part progress to publishing Access applications to SharePoint.
We conclude the part with a look at data macros, which enable you to perform important data management tasks at the table level. This means that the same tasks (very often, business rules) are enforced even when the table's data is used in an Access web application.
