So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
How to use this book
THIS BOOK ASSUMES that you have a fair working knowledge of Photoshop. It's beyond the scope of this book to teach readers how to use the Pen tool, or the Curves adjustment, or Layer Masks. That's what How to Cheat in Photoshop is for. But just in case any readers come across a wholly unfamiliar concept, there's a crash course in Photoshop basics at the end of the book: the final chapter, Photoshop reference, outlines some of the most common tools and techniques.
Some Photoshop tutorials, both in print and on the internet, will specify precisely what you have to do, step by step. I tend to avoid including numerical values wherever possible: rather than telling you to apply a 6-pixel bevel with a depth of 65, for example, ...
