I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Creating a cluster
Now, we can create the Kubernetes cluster. Some of the tasks will happen at the backend during cluster creation are as follows:
- Provisioning EC2 instances
- Setting up AWS resources such as AutoScaling Groups, IAM users, networking components, and Security Groups.
- Installing Kubernetes
Create the cluster by running the following command:
# kops create cluster --name k8s.aiq.io --zones ap-southeast-2a --state s3://kops-bkt --yes
By default, KOPS uses debian as base AMI to deploy Master and Worker Node. You can edit the image and mention custom AMI using ami-id. Refer to this link to do the same: https://github.com/kubernetes/kops/blob/master/docs/images.md.
