Starting the stopped container

In the previous screenshot, we got a list of all the containers irrespective of STATUS.

Let’s say if you get out of the container by the exit command and the container is in the exited status, then to get back inside the container, we have to follow the following steps:

1. Start the container.
2. Attach your shell to that container:

    # docker start <container ID> or     # docker start <container_name> (Assigning container name is     mentioned in next heading)

3. In the preceding screenshot (output of docker ps -a), we had a stopped container with the container ID 66b647917669, so we will start it. To attach to that container, we use the following code:

    # docker attach <container ID/Name>
