Have you ever seen a baby when it first comes out?
I have, and they’re not cute at all. They’re slimy, screaming, and covered in their own excrement (and sometimes their mom’s too). But with a few helping hands from midwives, nurses, doctors, they become soooo cute.
Ideas are a lot like newborn babies. They are definitely rough around the edges at first, but you love your ugly little ideas because they’re yours. However, unlike a newborn baby, it is precisely because it’s your idea that you should not fall in love with it.
This may sound counterintuitive but often the best way to help your idea develop and thrive is to be critical of it. Good content doesn’t often emerge fully formed. Which brings us to the question ...
