Component Parts of a Building
The basic requirements a building should satisfy in design and performance are:
- It must be strong enough to withstand the loads coming on it including the self-weight, live load, wind load and earthquake load.
- It must not deflect under the loads.
- It must give comfort and convenience to the inhabitants.
