It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Chapter 2. Variables, Classes, and Expressions
In this chapter you learn about how to work with variables in your programs. You also learn about many of the built-in AppleScript data types or classes. The basic arithmetic operators are covered in this chapter, and you see how to write arithmetic expressions and perform basic conversions between data types.
