4 CONCLUSION
A series of Y
2
O
2
S:Eu
3+
samples were synthesized by the solvothermal method. All sam-
ples were of single phases and particle sizes ranged approximately from 150 nm to 200 nm.
Besides, the SEM of the sample and the particle size distribution showed that the surface
morphology of the sample was roughly spherical and had some aggregation. We confirmed
through the experiment that the inhibitory effect of Y
2
O
2
S:Eu
3+
on the in vitro proliferation
of Hela cells was weak. The survival rate of Hela cells cultured with Y
2
O
2
S:Eu
3+
at the con-
centrations of 50 μg ⋅ ml
−1
, 40 μg ⋅ ml
−1
, 30 μg ⋅ ml
−1
, 20 μg ⋅ ml
−1
and 10 μg ⋅ ml
−1
was more than
84% for 48 h. MTT cytotoxicity assay at 24 h/48 h confirmed that Y

O
2
S:Eu
3+
had a smaller
